Weekend Getaway to Denver and Colorado Springs

Our second year anniversary was coming up, so we decided it was time for a weekend getaway. September is a beautiful month to travel to Colorado. There are so many beautiful hikes here and the colors of the leaves have started to change this time of year. We first flew in to Denver, Colorado on a Friday and spent some time exploring the area. Mount Evans Scenic Byway and the Red Rock Amphitheater were two really fun activities. There are a lot of stairs at the Amphitheater depending on the route you take, so if you start from the bottom I would wear tennis shoes. We bring a tripod when we travel and this has been our best idea so far. There are a lot of hikes we hike where it would be hard to get our picture taken without one, so we are happy we do not have to worry about getting great pictures. This tripod includes a tall tripod stand and a selfie stick (here is the link). We both also carry backpacks to carry food, water, cellphones, tripod, keys, and jackets if needed (here is the link).

We did not go to Coors Field on this trip, however we have been here before and so if you get the chance to see a game at this ballpark it is worth it. There are many activities to do in Denver, but we were ready to move to our next location. Some of our favorite activities traveling to new locations included Pikes Peak, Manitou Springs, Garden of the Gods, Red Rock Canyon, Manitou Cliff Dwellings, and many more (these were just our favorites).

Manitou Cliff Dwellings- You are able to go in and explore these, which is really amazing. There is also a museum.

We also love hiking, so we used alltrails.com to find all of our hikes. One of our favorite hikes was Seven Falls. If you are looking for some boots to hike in, the Columbia Newton Ridge are a great option. There are many options/colors to choose from I like how there is great ankle support with these. I also discuss my favorite tennis shoes later on in this post.

If you get the opportunity, we recommend Hot Sulphur Springs, Colorado. It was very relaxing and worth the time traveling to this area.

Lastly, we went on scenic drives and spent the rest of our time enjoying nature. If we are not hiking with a lot of rocks, my favorite shoes to wear are the Adidas Women’s Kaptir Shoes, I have them in at least 4 colors and they are very comfortable.
