South Carolina and Georgia Weekend Getaway

Hello! I am going to be highlighting a few activities we enjoyed for a weekend getaway in these two states. A few years ago my husband and I left for a weekend getaway for my birthday. We flew in to Charleston, SC and then road tripped drove to Georgia. We spent most of our time in Georgia and then went back and visited a few places in South Carolina before flying back home. There are so many fun things to do in these states, however we did not have a lot of time because we were only here for the weekend.

Our itinerary consisted of visiting Tybee Island, Wormsloe Historic Plantation Home, and Savannah, GA. First, we will start with Tybee Island. I thought Tybee Island was so much fun. The only thing we struggled with was finding a place to park, so I would highly recommend preparing for this. We didn’t get to the beach until a little after two, so that may have been our issue. We did find delicious drinks while we were here at North Beach Bar & Grill. The food and service here was also amazing. This place was busy, but we didn’t have to wait long to be seated.

Next, Wormsloe Historic Site in Savannah, GA was so interesting and if you get the time I would definitely recommend visiting here. I think the oak trees and Spanish moss is so pretty. There is so much history behind this location. There is a small fee, so be prepared for that.

We also spent a lot of time sightseeing Savannah, GA. If you are going to visit here you should check out the beautiful mural!

We then traveled back to South Carolina. One of my favorite places to visit was Rainbow Row in Charleston. Here there are 13 pastel-colored houses that are on East Bay Street. It was so beautiful and it was interesting to learn about the history of each home.

We also went to different places in Downtown Charleston and walked around and did sightseeing. After spending some time in Charleston, we then boarded a plane and flew home!
